In the large hall of events of the Tecnopolo, in Modena, in the presence of the many professors and rectors of the various Emilian universities (Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Parma and Ferrara), the ceremony of conferring the prestigious title took place, due to undoubted merits acquired on the field in the design and creation of avant-garde vehicles.

To preside over the event, in addition to the Rector of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Prof. Angelo Oreste Andrisano, who introduced the works and presented the university, also the Director of the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari”, Prof. Alessandro Capra who, in his short speech, motivated the awarding of the title and finally Prof. Francesco Leali, Director of the new inter-university initiative dedicated to the Automotive, which was instead tasked to introduce the character and the ‘incredible story of Horacio Pagani, who came to Italy in the early eighties, with the precise dream of creating the car and the company of his dreams and that, after having made his first experiences in the composite department of Lamborghini, then founded in the early 90s, Modena Design, specialized in the production of carbon parts, to then give life, in 1999, to the first car with its name, the Pagani Zonda C12 engine V1 AMG-Merc edes.

Since then it has been a whole climb, until arriving, in 2011 to produce its second new model: the Huayra and finally, last year (2017), the inauguration of the new, larger and more organized Pagani Automobili factory, with attached museum, exhibition hall and showroom.

The event was then concluded with the “Lectio Magistralis” of the same Horacio Pagani, who reminded the many students of Vehicle Engineering intervening, as it is necessary above all to take inspiration from the lesson of his great mentor: Leonardo Da Vinci, who used to affirm that art must always go hand in hand with science. In the same way, it is therefore necessary to design with imagination, not only following the rules, so as to always realize innovative and original projects, which we are each time a stimulus for an ever-increasing technological and aesthetic progress.

A lesson that the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari” of Modena has always held in high regard, as the same Enzo Ferrari, to whom it is dedicated, used to remember, in a similar way, that technological progress must be incessant and always sustained. from the passion and the desire to improve!
